His mother Lucine is a model and contest coordinator with an emphasis on spider pokemon, and his father Aelius (the aurelion family clearly has a naming theme. just for the sake of irony maybe aelius had suggested the name sanctus but lucine was like ‘we are NOT naming our son Sanctus Aurelion thats just too much, let me pick the name’) is a former galar league champion and pokemon breeder who focuses on breeding the biggest gotdang lycanroc around, as well as doing a lot of administration work for Hotel Ionia. They married more for convenience and financial reasons than love and both agreed beforehand that it’d be something of an open marriage. They rarely even lived in the same house, but met up regularly nonetheless and had a very, uh. very physical relationship more than anything else, really. Things between them started to go downhill when Gwyn came into the picture. He was planned, but the pregnancy turned out to be wrought with issues and by the end of it Lucine was really not wild about going through all that trauma only to have a child she felt was ‘defective’ in more ways than one. Though there was nothing to be done about the albinism, she did argue for purely cosmetic ‘‘corrective’’ surgery for the child’s ambiguous parts, which Aelius adamantly refused to allow bc like. (Later on Gwyn would prove to actually need a very minor surgery to prevent reoccurring health issues that could have worsened considerably if left untreated, but it was strictly for medical reasons and didn’t alter anything unnecessarily.) what the hell? No, he doesn’t want his child’s body permanently mutilated when he’s too young to have any say in the matter? After a lot of really heated arguments, Lucine finally gave up, thankfully, but this was just the start of the resentment that would build between them, but even moreso resentment from Lucine towards Gwyn. Gwyn’s first pokemon was given to him when he was probably around 5 and it was a rotund little rockruff puppy. wee babby Gwyn named him Husk, because he thought he felt like a big ball of corn silk but forgot what corn silk was called and went with the closest thing he could think of. The two were inseparable and the pack of lycanroc treated Gwyn as just another one of the pups which, although adorable, lead to some lowkey feral habits that Lucine did not approve of. And that was just another thing-Lucine wasn’t fond of canine pokemon in general. Thought they were filthy and unrefined, but knew better than to say as much around Aelius. Aelius didn’t exactly encourage Gwyn’s wolf-based behavior but cmon, he was just a little kid! Let him bark for a while! Let him lose his baby teeth biting the rocks on Husk’s neck while play-fighting! unfortunately it wouldn’t last long because, again, Lucine would have none of it. The day Gwyn refused the offers to fight or wrestle with the wolf pokemon was honestly heartbreaking and was a bit of a turning point in his childhood when he couldn’t even let himself roughhouse and play and just, yknow, be a little kid. This one is my biggest life saver!! I learnt about a year ago that sometimes I'll get bored of writing a story, and have difficulty keeping on track. That's why I finished my first book in 2016 and just started editing the first draft last week. The solution for me was to work on multiple projects at once, because it was much harder to be bored of multiple stories. I stick to 2, but will sometimes add a third. This is easy for me, because I have a list of over a dozen series I want to write. Don't abandon one project for another, use them as a distraction/ motivation for each other, so you're always furthering at least one project.
